AS Roma find themselves further into crisis after going down to a 1-0 defeat at Siena.
They are now 14th in Serie A and six points off city-rivals Lazio and champions Inter Milan at the top.
Liechtenstein forward Mario Frick scored the winner just before the break as he reached Massimo Maccarone's cross just ahead of Philippe Mexès.
Any hopes Roma had of salvaging something from the match disappeared after having both central defenders - Christian Panucci and Mexès - sent off.
Juventus are not going much better as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Palermo.
Former Juventus man Fabrizio Miccoli put the Sicilians ahead before Alessandro Del Piero restored parity with a superb free-kick.
But two minutes later, the home side were reduced to ten-men when former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Georgian striker Levan McHedlidze then grabbed the winner in the 81st minute with his first ever goal in Serie A.
At Sant’Elia, resurrecting AC Milan side shared the spoils during a goalless draw with Cagliari.
Milan started with Ronaldinho in the starting XI and dominated possession during the match, but Cagliari had the best chances with Robert Acquafresca firing wide when one-on-one with Christian Abbiati and Daniele Conti failing to hit the target with a late header from just six yards out.
Fiorentina took all three points in Verona with a 2-0 triumph over Chievo.
Zdravko Kuzmanović opened the scoring on 32 minutes before Alberto Gilardino continued his great goal-scoring form since his move from AC Milan by scoring the second in the 74th minute.
Udinese have moved into second place, level on points with leaders Lazio and Inter Milan, after a 2-0 win over Torino.
Italy international Fabio Quagliarella scored both goals for Udinese in the 44th and 76th minute.
On Saturday, league leaders Lazio were held to a 1-1 draw against Lecce, while champions Inter beat newly promoted Bologna 2-1.
