Aaron Lennon’s 93rd-minute equaliser provided an unforgettable ending to a night of heart-stopping drama with Tottenham salvaging a 4-4 draw against Arsenal in the North London derby.
Spurs opened the goal rush on 13 minutes through former Arsenal player David Bentley with a genuine contender for goal of the season, receiving the ball from Jermaine Jenas before unleashing a 40-yard volley over Manuel Almunia.
But Mikaël Silvestre levelled before the break when Heurelho Gomes failed to reach Robin van Persie’s corner and Silvestre headed his first goal for Arsenal.
The second half wasn't even a minute old when William Gallas headed in van Persie’s free-kick to make it 2-1.
And Emmanuel Adebayor made it 3-1 in the 64th minute when he stabbed in his eighth goal in eight matches against Spurs.
Within two minutes, though, Darren Bent got one back for Spurs after slotting home a loose ball.
But Alan Hutton's shocking pass then gifted possession to Adebayor, who rolled the ball to van Persie to smash home from an acute angle.
With a minute remaining, Jenas cut the deficit and suddenly Spurs sensed a miracle escape while Arsenal were thrown into a blind panic.
And with virtually the last kick of the game, Lennon scored from the equaliser after Luka Modrić's deflected long-range strike had struck the post.
After four straight wins, high-flying Hull was given a harsh reality check as it was finally humbled 3-0 by Chelsea.
The Blues took the lead after just three minutes when Frank Lampard produced a stunning left-foot chip to float the ball over Boaz Myhill and into the top corner.
Luiz Felipe Scolari's men then took control at the start of the second period when the previously impressive Myhill tried to head the ball ahead of Kamil Zayatte but completely missed it allowing Nicolas Anelka to sneak in and score into the empty net.
Florent Malouda then made it 3-0 with 15 minutes to go, tapping in Ashley Cole's pass from close range.
Two goals from FIFPro World Footballer of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo helped Manchester United beat West Ham 2-0 at Old Trafford.
United opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Nani's low cross reached Ronaldo who found the bottom corner of Robert Green's net.
And Ronaldo made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark as Dimitar Berbatov set him up to poke home from close range.
Liverpool remain three points clear at the top of Premier League as Rafa Benitez's men saw off Portsmouth 1-0 at Anfield.
It took 76 minutes for the Reds to break Portsmouth's resolve when the referee pointed to the spot after Papa Bouba Diop was ruled to have handled the ball to block Sami Hyypiä's goalbound header.
Steven Gerrard stepped up and coolly buried the penalty in the bottom corner.
