AC Milan returned to form as they saw off previously unbeaten Lazio 4-1 at the San Siro.
Milan went in front when Clarence Seedorf scored after just eight minutes with a powerful finish after the ball ricocheted off a defender.
Argentine forward Mauro Zárate continued a bright start to his Lazio career as he struck the equaliser in the 26th minute.
Gianluca Zambrotta restored Milan's lead nine minutes later with thumping effort from 30 yards before teenager Alexandre Pato and Kaká scored in the second period to give the home side a comfortable victory.
Earlier, defending champions Inter Milan went top of the Serie A table with a 3-1 win at Torino.
Jose Mourinho’s men took the lead on 24 minutes when Marco Pisano turned Mancini’s cross into his own net.
Brazilian fullback Maicon then doubled the advantage with a thunderous strike two minutes later, and a clever finish from Zlatan Ibrahimović made it 3-0 seven minutes into the second half.
Elvis Abbruscato netted a consolation goal 15 minutes from time to decrease the deficit.
Juventus moving up into second place after a 1-0 victory over Cagliari at Sant’Elia.
The Bianconeri were without injured David Trezeguet but they had new Brazilian signing Amauri who blasted home Vincenzo Iaquinta's flick-on in the 39th minute.
But there were problems for Juve as Gianluigi Buffon had to be withdrawn with a thigh injury at half-time.
On Saturday, Roma also won their first match of the new season with a 3-0 home success over Reggina.

In La Liga,Barcelona registered their first win of the new season after a 6-1 demolition at newly promoted Sporting Gijon.
Xavi opened the scoring after 27 minutes and Samuel Eto’o added a second six minutes later.
An own goal from Jorge Garcia four minutes into the second half increased Barça’s lead before Francisco Maldonado pulled one back for Sporting immediately.
But the task was rendered almost impossible for the home side as they saw Gerard sent off.
Andrés Iniesta then scored the fourth goal 20 minutes from time before a late double from Lionel Messi completed the rout for Barça.
It was Pep Guardiola's first league victory as Barcelona coach since replacing Frank Rijkaard.
Real Madrid moved to within a point of the league leaders after a 2-0 win at Racing Santander.
Real took the lead 10 minutes into the second-half with Rubén de la Red scored his first league goal for the club, following an excellent pass from Gonzalo Higuaín.
Ruud van Nistelrooy sealed the victory with a deadly finish from 20 yards on the 75 minutes.
It was another unconvincing display from Real but the clean sheet will please coach Bernd Schuster, who criticised his team for conceding five goals in their opening two league fixtures.
Four teams share top spot on seven points with Valencia atop the table on goal difference, while Almeria in second, Villarreal are third and Espanyol fourth.
