Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table as they rallied to win 3-1 at Bolton.

Bolton, who had not won since the opening day, opened the scoring through Kevin Davies after 14 minutes, powering home Joey O’Brien's corner for his third goal of the season.

But the Gunners got two goals in a minute from Emmanuel Eboué and Nicklas Bendtner on 26 and 27 minutes.

And with three minutes left, Denilson rolled home a third to seal the victory.

With Liverpool held to a goalless draw by Stoke and Chelsea not playing until Sunday, Arsenal now sit proudly at the top spot.

Liverpool, with 11 points after five matches, edged by Arsenal from the top of Premier League table as a battling performance from newcomers Stoke City secured a 0-0 draw at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard was denied his 100th goal for Liverpool by a rogue offside flag after just two minutes.

The Liverpool skipper curled in a free-kick from the left which evaded everyone and past Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen.

But referee Andre Marriner disallowed the goal as his assistant appeared to think Dirk Kuyt was in an offside position, which TV replays later proved otherwise.

Rafa Benitez's men controlled possession afterwards but struggled to create any significant chances.
