Table of Contents
Ryan Giggs is one loyal soldier who dedicate all his career only to his beloved club Manchester United.
He was awarded an OBE as he was included in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to football.
Alessandro Del Piero once has said that he had cried twice in his life watching football player, the first one was Roberto Baggio and the second was Giggs.
Giggs joined the Red Devils on 29 November 1987, when Sir Alex Ferguson made a personal visit to his house on his 14th birthday.
He turned professional on his 17th birthday and became a first-team regular early in the 1991-92 season.
His dribbling ability with outstanding balance, pace and skill were compared to some legendary players such as George Best, Diego Maradona, and Johan Cruyff.
Giggsy, as he is known, is the most successful player in the club history with 18 major honour, including the treble triumph on 1999.
He also one of only two players, besides Roy Keane to have won the FA Cup trophy four times, while playing for United.
He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame on 2005 in recognition for his contribution to English football.
He holds many records, including non-striker all time top scorer in the Premier League, and United's fastest goal (15 seconds) against Southampton on November 1995.
He was also the first player who won PFA Young Player of the Year award for two years in a row (1992 and 1993).
The fans also voted Giggs for United's greatest goal, it was in the 1999 FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal where he beat four defenders to score.
New contract extension had signed by Giggs and that will keep him at the Theatre Of Dreams until the end of the 2008/09 season, when he will be in his 36th year.
Sir Alex believes that Giggs still can playing for United until that time, and he is on the way to surpassing the club's all-time appearance record holder Sir Bobby Charlton with 759 caps.
Til then we will still hear Ryan Giggs chants from the fans during the United matches:
"Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Feared by the Blues, Loved by the Reds, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs."
